Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 and set a baking pan aside.

  • Prepare apples: 8 apples, washed, cored and thinly sliced with a food processor, mandolin or by hand

In a bowl, add apples and the following, mixing together:

  • ⅓ C pure maple syrup

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Place the apple mixture evenly in a baking pan, set aside


Prepare the topping:

  • ⅓ C whole wheat flour

  • ½ C rolled oats

  • ¼ C ground flax

  • 2 TBSP hemp hearts

  • ⅓ C coconut sugar

  • 1 TBSP cinnamon

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • ⅓ C cold butter, cubed

  • ¼ C coconut oil

Combine the topping ingredients with your hands, pressing the cold butter and coconut oil into the dry ingredients until you have the texture of wet sand.


In the baking pan, add the topping evenly over the apple mixture.


Bake for about 40 mins until golden brown and bubbling.
